Modern Farmhouse Outdoor Lantern Wall Sconce

There’s minimal exterior lighting in the design above, so our designers made sure to select a piece that would stand out and illuminate the outside of the home properly. We suggested a lantern sconce and placed it to the left of the front door. This light fixture perfectly complements the home’s rustic-chic exterior.

This sconce comes in a range of finishes, including Matte Black, Antique Bronze, and Weathered Pewter. As the name implies, it’s an excellent option for modern farmhouses, but it can be used on a slew of other house styles too.

Here’s another design in which we used the aforementioned lantern sconce. Here, we actually used two, placing one above each garage door. The light fixtures, pergola, wood doors, and planters ensure this garage feels like a thoughtful and intentional part of this home’s exterior.

As demonstrated in this design, this sconce plays nicely with other light fixture styles, such as the cylinder wall lanterns near the entrance.

Rustic Outdoor Wall Sconce

In addition to the modern farmhouse lantern sconce seen in the previous two designs, this home also features another one of our go-to Home Depot light fixtures. We placed a rustic wall sconce with vintage-looking clear glass panes on both sides of the entry door. These fixtures light up the covered porch area and make the farmhouse-inspired front door a focal point.

All the lighting options used in this design look lovely juxtaposed with the gray siding and black shutters. Our designers selected a much lighter shade of gray for the columns and trim to create some contrast.

Wall Cylinder Sconce

This rendering puts our beloved rustic wall sconces front and center, framing the front door. But it also features another one of our favorite fixtures playing a supporting role.

The cylinder sconce to the left of the garage has a contemporary aesthetic that matches the garage door. It’s not super noticeable against the dark siding — rendered in Sherwin Williams’ Naval — but at night, it’ll provide some much-needed light. Additionally, by opting for a different light than the one used for the entrance, our designers added some variety and visual interest to the façade.

This item is available in a variety of colors and finishes, including Black (seen above) and Textured Black, Architectural Bronze and Textured Architectural Bronze, White, and Brushed Aluminum.

Outdoor Post Light

This home design features lush landscaping that could be difficult to maneuver through in the dark. So we incorporated stone and paver walkways and post lights to illuminate them. The post lights play well with the other light fixtures featured in this design.

The casual contemporary design of these lights makes them easy to incorporate in a variety of our renderings. The weather resistant steel from which they’re made makes them the perfect low-maintenance outdoor option. In addition to walkways, these fixtures are great for lighting up driveways too.

Outdoor Post Mount Fixture

This design features another one of our favorite post mount light fixtures from Home Depot. It’s prominently situated on the brick structure displaying the address numbers, making it easy to spot them at night. The black fixture really pops against the limewash brick and connects with the other black accents in the entrance. This simple, sleek style is highly versatile.

We also used the post mount light fixture from above in this home design. We mounted one on the stucco wall on both sides of the walkway, adding to the symmetry of this design. This placement adds extra lighting for those using the walkway or sitting in the spacious courtyard. The sleek design of the fixtures fit right in with the sophisticated style of this home.

Wall-Light Sconce

We designed three sides of this client’s home and used Home Depot light fixtures throughout. On the front side, we used two wall-light sconces to frame the double entry doors. The light fixtures line up nicely with the planters beneath them and the columns that support the portico.

On the side of the home, we used another wall sconce light from Home Depot. This fixture is a barn light style that works well with the homeowner’s preferred farmhouse aesthetic. We used two to frame the garage door and another on the left side of the exterior. These black lights pop beautifully against the white brick and siding, both of which are rendered in Sherwin Williams’ Pure White.

Our designers also used this fixture on the back of the house (below). We placed one on each of the thick white columns, shining light on the spacious patio area. We also incorporated the sconce from the front of the home on both sides of the sliding glass doors. This outdoor living space was designed for entertaining, and ample lighting options will ensure the family and its guests can enjoy the area well into the night.
