House with Courtyard Exterior Transformation in Florida

Jennifer S. was considering working with a traditional home designer to update her Florida house with a courtyard when she learned about our services and decided to enlist our help instead.

“It was very affordable and came highly recommended,” Jennifer said of our services. (In case you’re wondering, traditional designers can be expensive and typically require you to contract the work through them.)

Now that Jennifer has implemented our design recommendations and completed her home renovation, we’re excited to share all the details with you. Keep reading to view the design we provided Jennifer with, learn how she brought it to life, and see the finished product.

We’re leaders in the exterior design industry, and we’re here to help you make your dream home a reality. We offer an affordable way to see changes to your home’s exterior before you commit to them. Learn more about our virtual exterior design services.

The before

When Jennifer placed her order, she listed several aspects of her home exterior that she knew she wanted to change. For example, she wanted to remove the existing breeze blocks to open up the courtyard. She also wanted to add a seating area to the courtyard.

Jennifer also let us know she wanted to keep the home’s brick and was interested in white, gray, and black paint colors for the rest of the exterior. Finally, she told us she also likes natural materials like wood and stone.

The design

Our initial design for Jennifer featured her home’s existing brick with Benjamin Moore’s Simply White on the stucco and Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty on the trim, eaves, and windows. Simply White is a crisp white hue with a touch of warmth, and we love how it looks juxtaposed with the natural brick.

In addition to paint color recommendations, our rendering also includes a contemporary black garage door, a double entry door, small sections of wood siding, patterned flagstone in the courtyard, a stone and paver walkway, new light fixtures, and Corten steel planters.

Jennifer used her free revision to see what her home would look like with limewashed brick. The other design elements and paint color suggestions remain the same.

The process was quick and simple. We submitted our initial ideas and got the design back about a week later. The representative processing the design was responsive and helpful. We are very happy with the outcome.

The process

Jennifer hired a contractor to bring her brick&batten design to life and said the process took about seven months because other renovations were being done to other parts of the home simultaneously. She said she followed our rendering closely and her contractor referenced it throughout the renovation process.

We tried to match the design as much as possible, and our contractor used the picture as his guide.

The actual after

Jennifer decided against limewashing her brick and instead kept it natural. She did paint the stucco white and the accents black as recommended. Her new walkway is also quite similar to the one in our design.

Jennifer noted that while she didn’t purchase the exact items in our rendering, she bought products locally that were very similar.

Overall, Jennifer said she’s thrilled with how her home turned out.

We LOVE our transformation! It’s like a different home. Neighbors are constantly complimenting the design.

A successful home exterior and courtyard update

Jennifer’s dated house with a courtyard that wasn’t very functional got a fresh look and an outdoor living space with plenty of seating. Her home’s new exterior is inviting, and its curb appeal improved drastically.

My favorite part of the transformation is the new open feel of the courtyard.  It provides so much more usable space along with an updated feel.

Don’t settle for so-so curb appeal. We’ll help you achieve the showstopping home exterior you deserve. Begin your exterior design project today.
