A gray brick house on a lake

#1 // Gray Brick Lake House

A fresh coat of paint brought this lake house to life. For the brick and siding, our designers selected Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal, a rich, luxurious shade. They leaned into the drama of this moody shade by creating a crisp contrast with the trim and columns, both rendered in Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White. Kendall Charcoal’s earthiness means it pairs well with organic materials, such as the wood used for the decking.

#2 // Dark Brick, Light Trim

For this gray brick house, our team chose a striking shade with plenty of depth and drama — Benjamin Moore’s Iron Mountain. They went lighter on the trim with Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter, a soft, welcoming greige. The flagstone walkway featuring various shades of gray ties the design together.

#3 // Charcoal Gray Brick House

This client said they love charcoal, black, and white paint colors, so our designers used Benjamin Moore’s Charcoal Slate on their home’s brick and Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty on the trim, eaves, gutters, and siding. The lighter woodgrain siding on the carport roof and address monument sign adds some warmth to the moody design.

#4 // Gray Brick House With Accents That Pop

Here’s another gray, black, and white color combination we love. This home’s brick is painted with Benjamin Moore’s Chelsea Gray, while Benjamin Moore’s Black is featured on the shutters and Benjamin Moore’s Simply White is used on the trim and columns. In this design, the dark shutters and light trim and columns really pop against the gray brick.

#5 // Embrace Nature

If a nature-inspired color palette is more your style, this design is worth considering. Our designers used Benjamin Moore’s Ashwood Moss — a deep graphite green — on the brick and siding to give this home an earthy feel. (So maybe it’s a bit more green than gray — it’s always worth exploring beyond your initial color concept!) Dark paneling and gorgeous wood elements draw the eye to the entryway of this cozy, inviting home.

We always recommend sampling and testing paint colors before committing. Factors such as natural lighting, undertones, and your property’s fixed elements will have a significant impact on how a color will appear on your exterior. Our friends at Samplize offer extra-large 9 x 14.75 inch peel-and-stick paint samples of the colors we love for exteriors. Order your ‘Real Paint, No Mess’ samples from Samplize here.

#6 // Gray Brick and Stone House

This client requested an exterior color palette that would accentuate their home’s stone, so our designers suggested Benjamin Moore’s Gray Huskie — an effortlessly sophisticated hue — for the brick. Other color choices include Benjamin Moore’s White Dove on the eaves, soffit, and windows and Sherwin Williams’ Urbane Bronze on the front and garage door. The combination of these hues makes the stone stand out while still feeling like a cohesive part of the home.

#7 // Dark and Moody Brick House

This homeowner was drawn to darker colors, so Benjamin Moore’s Wrought Iron seemed like a natural choice. In this design, this unabashedly dark gray was used on the brick and siding and paired with Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black. Wood elements add warmth to this deliciously dark, moody rendering.

#8 // Brick House with an Eye-Catching Entryway

For this gray brick house, the entryway is a major focal point thanks to the way the two columns — painted with Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter — pop against the façade, rendered in Chelsea Gray. A stunning front door also helps capture the eye and boost the home’s curb appeal.

A brick and stucco house

#9 // Brick and Stucco Combo

This homeowner wanted a more modern look for her transitional Tudor house. Our designers chose Sherwin Williams’ Agreeable Gray — a soft, warm gray — for the brick. We love this shade because, as the name implies, it works well with a variety of other colors. In this design, it’s paired with Snowbound on the stucco and Iron Ore — both by Sherwin Williams — on the trim. The mix of textures and colors on this home gives it great curb appeal.
