Coming in hot: Classic PAINT Combinations Everyone is Asking About in 2019

Enough with the latest fad. Let’s stick with the tried and true CLASSICS to never go wrong!  We have a few favorites that clients are asking about in 2019… and we don’t blame them!  Gorgeous!

Style #1: WARM & WHITE

Stay earthy.  A warm beige and brighter white around the windows isn’t a trend that’s going to die out anytime soon.  We lean toward Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore or Wool Skein by Sherwin Williams.  Warm tones invoke a welcoming and inviting feel from the curb.

Style #2: WHITE on WHITE

Update your home by painting it a single color and accent with doors and lighting.  A white on white home is gorgeous!  Boring? No way! Finding the correct shade of white is tricky; therefore, choosing the correct hue is essential.  We lean towards Olympic Mountains and SeaPearl, all by Benjamin Moore.

Style #3: TONE on TONE

Use varying shades of one color can be a beautiful harmonious way to reinforce an eye catching door, limestone walkway, or slate roof. Instead of doing a single color on house and trim, try varying shades of the same color.

We always recommend sampling and testing paint colors before committing. Factors such as natural lighting, undertones, and your property’s fixed elements will have a significant impact on how a color will appear on your exterior. Our friends at Samplize offer extra-large 9 x 14.75 inch peel-and-stick paint samples of the colors we love for exteriors. Order your ‘Real Paint, No Mess’ samples from Samplize here.

Style #4: BLACK on WHITE

A classic white home exterior with black trim or shutters is timeless.  It can be the color of your grandmother’s colonial or your new farmhouse.  White and black will never go out of style.  For dark trim, we lean toward Black Beauty by Sherwin Williams and Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore.

Choosing an exterior paint color can be difficult.  It’s too big of a deal to chance on.  Make an informed decision before opening the cans and grabbing a brush.  If you lean towards a classic design or something more trendy, let brick&batten partner with you to be sure you make the best paint decisions for your style and architecture.
