If it were only that easy….We talk to people EVERY DAY that are having trouble with their new build.  Wanted shutters? Now, there’s no room between windows for architecturally correct shutters. Wanted a door, to a staircase, into the garage? Now, there’s not room for a staircase and you fall getting into the garage.  Wanted your front door centered in the gable? Now, the gable is centered but the door is 3 feet to the right. Yes, I’m not kidding, these are real situations that people just like you are dealing with daily.

New construction and home additions are beautiful when they are done correctly. That said, at brick&batten we design a lot of homes that are in the blueprint phase. People want to make sure they are making the best choices for the biggest investment. It’s hard to choose brick, stone, and paint colors while driving around a neighborhood, sitting in a showroom, or counting on your builder to make the selections.

 

We know design; however, nobody is asking me to build their house! Thank God!

Cassie co-founded brick&batten in 2017 with her sister, Alli, but her love of home design was born years earlier. Cassie’s passion for design can be traced back to her childhood, when she’d accompany her parents on road trips through small towns in search of inspiration for properties they would buy, fix up, and sell. Prior to launching brick&batten, Cassie worked as a fourth grade teacher, but her love of design, architecture, home renovation, and open houses inspired her to pursue a new career. When writing for brick&batten, Cassie aims to empower homeowners to make the best informed decisions for their property. She knows from experience how challenging home renovation can be, and when she writes, she puts herself in the shoes of every homeowner with similar frustrations. Cassie currently lives in Florida with her four children, an old dog, and her loving husband.
