In the middle of the dynamic multi-level layout of the home shown above, we created a small mini golf area, giving this home a unique, standout element.
Of course, when we think of having fun in the backyard, things like pools, hot tubs, and outdoor fireplaces make perfect sense. We included all of those elements in this backyard, along with a grill, an outdoor dining table, a comfortable swing, and multiple outdoor seating areas. Our designers even draped sheer curtains on the wood pergolas, creating an ethereal aesthetic. The vibe of this backyard is ideal for unwinding and enjoying time outside.
Extending the indoors to outdoor spaces
The idea of indoor spaces transcending outside is something homeowners continue to gravitate toward for 2025 home exterior trends. These flowy layouts exude a comforting vibe, plus they emphasize accessibility. In the design above, we connected the interior to the patio with two sliding glass doors. These doors not only connect the spaces physically, but because of the large glass panels, they create a visual connection too. The doors make way to an outdoor lounge area, which transitions into a dining space, and then a fire pit.
Sliders are one of the most reliable elements to tie the interior to the exterior, so we used three in the design above. The patio is spacious, filled in with an inviting seating area. The stairs flow right into the rest of the backyard hardscape, which includes an outdoor kitchen, dining table, and fire pit. The string lights add ambiance to the outdoor space, embracing a warm, welcoming vibe.
Shifting toward sustainability

Combining different exterior materials is a great way to create dimension. In the above design, we complemented the earthy olive siding with stone skirting, which we extended to the chimney. Our designers also incorporated dark-stained wood framework and a warm, rich wood for the inside of the portico ceilings. These materials are a nod to the nature surrounding the exterior, and they give the design an intentional look.
